my daughter learned how to write her name this week
should i be concerned that its backwards?
she doesnt always do it this way
just 1 in 5 times that she writes it
( i have her write it about 15 times a day cause i am so proud)

im scared that she will have dyslexia
that something will be wrong with my perfect princess

in my head i know that kids with learning disabilities will grow to bw stronger than most
but still i am scared
scared that she will fell different
fall behind
feel ashamed

i want the best for my angel
for she is the best thing that has ever happened to me
and anyone she meets

she will be great
perfect no matter what
i am so proud of her
my boogerhead

Is she left or right handed? I wouldn't worry too much. She's a bright little girl!

don't worry about it yo. i'm left handed, and when i learned how to write- i wrote everything backward. also, when i started doing math in school i added and subtracted from left to right instead of right to left. once someone called me on it, i corrected the problem.

plus- everyone knows i'm a freakin GENIUS so don't fret about your girl.

i think that all kids do it. both lovie and my nephew would sometimes write things backwards when they were first learning how to spell. don't worry, she'll be just fine :)

I write backwards cursive with my left hand. I watched Maddie do it and I couldn't belive she was doing it half normal, half backward

I would consider her gifted writing her name so perfectly backwards at that age.

My dad works with a woman who can read left to right and right to left. She can write the same way. There were no dyslexia or anything like that, she is just a little kooky.

Your daughter might be gifted!

If you are really concerned, call the pediatrician. I'm sure they will assure you that it is perfectly normal. In fact, it's amazing that she can write that perfectly clear - just backwards - like a mirrored image. I think it's way cool!

miss ht, i am so proud, but im kinda offended that you used the "s" word in my comments. (snake) is a very very scary thing for me and"maybe"

lorena, i know shes gifted. she really is( im not just saying that becasue im her mommy)

kittyfriend, did you know that leonardo divinci also used to write backwards? he did it in calligraphy to protect secret documents.(geez, i need to stop reading im sounding like a nerd)

lolo, i did call the ped. he said she was fine and was very proud of her for writing so well and knowing how to write all her letters.
it was funny, when she first did it i walked into her dads house and he was showing it to her in the mirror.
